Making a difference ONE ACT at a time

Our Mission

Theatre On A Mission (TOM) brings the love and joy of performance arts to children living in impoverished locations. The arts are used as a vehicle to raise funds, awareness and resources for the childrens needs.

Our Story

It began with one girl's dream to meet and inspire a young orphan she sponsored in Kenya. She wanted to bring the joy of theatre to children who might never get the opportunity to experience it. She asked a few of her friends to help her take a theatre camp to that orphanage in Africa and Theatre on a Mission was born!

The visit to Kenya in 2012 started it all. Since then TOM has returned twice more, developing lasting relationships with Foundation Stone Children's Center, Kijiji Dialysis Center, and Growers Alliance. With each trip TOM teams have made big impacts such as providing a running water system to the orphanage, repairing a broken water well for an entire village, and contributing financially to the dialysis clinic. Of course, the highlight of every trip is working with the children and exposing them to the arts with week long theatre camps and one-act plays.

Costa Rica

In the summer of 2015, TOM took a trip to Golfito, Costa Rica. The team worked in three different schools in the local area teaching 500 students the power of acting, music, and dance.  Additionally, TOM brought over 20 trunks full of school supplies, medical equipment, sporting goods, and musical instruments to donate to the local schools.

On this trip, TOM partnered with Dirty Feet Missions and Hope House for Haiti. The team conducted an intensive theatre workshop with the children at Hope House and in the community. At the end of the week, all 50 children performed a one-act play for a remote village, another orphanage, and a community center. TOM was also able to provide 19 trunks of school supplies, medical equipment, and sporting goods to the children.
